The Old Schoolhouse, converted into a traditional holiday cottage, is situated amidst West Donegal's unique coastal scenery. It has 4* rating from Bord Failte and, decorated to the highest standard, this restored building holds many delights.
While the original classroom has been tastefully refurbished, the character of the room has not been lost. The granite fireplace has been maintained, and a polished wooden floor completes the décor, of what is now, a very relaxing living room. An overhead loft, with balcony, serves as a reading area. A number of the old school desks have been restored, and act as a great reminder to the older visitor of their childhood days, as are other artifacts such as roll books, schoolbooks and photographs.
With two double (en suite) bedrooms, and one bedroom with two single beds and a cot, the Old Schoolhouse can sleep up to 7 people. All rooms are spacious, warm and comfortable.
The kitchen and dining room have been designed with the guest's comfort and convenience in mind. It has been fitted with a dishwasher, cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave etc. Guests arrive to a warm welcoming house, with the kettle on the boil. In the utility room, a washing machine and tumble dryer have been installed to ensure a work free holiday.
